Job Summary
- The main role of the Senior Enterprise Development Specialist reporting directly to the Program Manager contributes to the strategic priority of scaling up the impact of our work through the development of a strong and sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Senior Enterprise Development Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that project participants have the knowledge and skills to develop and run successful enterprises, or take on decent employment.
- In close collaboration and coordination with the Project staff, he/she will ensure successful, innovative, efficient, and effective functioning of all entrepreneurship training and capacity building activities in the project through effective planning, and delivery of project activities in collaboration with other project team members towards achieving the common goal.
Program / Practice / Department Overview
- The project seeks to address unemployment in Nigeria through four pathways namely: self-employment, micro and small growing business acceleration, job readiness and ecosystem development.
- With a strong learning agenda, the project will pilot methodologies that drive behaviour change and successfully link women and youth to relevant and lasting jobs.
- To achieve its objectives, the project will leverage existing infrastructure, institutions, and organizations where possible.
- It will also apply lessons learned from other initiatives in the entrepreneurial ecosystem support space by adopting multiple proven approaches.
- The design will follow a common set of principles, such as being market-driven to help entrepreneurs tap into high-growth sectors, build youth skills, and facilitate linkages to drive job placement for targeted youth.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities
Lead enterprise development activities under the guidance of the Project Manager. S/he will perform the following tasks:
- Identify entrepreneurs, lead identification and enrolment of qualified participants for the business acceleration track
- Coordinate a detailed market needs assessment that will identify the core areas, growth sectors, and components of the value chain with opportunities for entrepreneurship for women;
- Ensure quality delivery of entrepreneurship training and capacity building activities in the project, including adequacy and suitability of training modules, aftercare, and linkages;
- Work with consultant to develop the curriculum and includes a module on sustainable practices and ESG.
- Drive learning and knowledge training in the project;
- Supervise and support Business Advisors to ensure quality implementation of project activities;
- Ensure quality delivery of training of TVET instructors to achieve the objective of the project;
- Ensure that all project reports relevant to her/his area of focus are promptly produced and submitted to meet project targets;
- Ensure adequacy of the entrepreneurship school curriculum to be deployed by the project;
- Responsible for smooth implementation of the entrepreneurship activities and for providing the required relevant information to the monitoring and evaluation team for the effective compilation of results;
- Contribute to the programme team’s work on the timely and effective management and implementation of the project’s Enterprise Development activities;

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years’ experience in Business Management, Agribusiness, Economics, or related field. Alternatively, Master’s Degree with 3 years’ experience will be considered.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with enterprise development, entrepreneurship training etc with special focus on micro-businesses, youth development, incubation/innovation, value chain or entrepreneurship is desirable.
- Experience should include displays of gender sensitivity and promotion of gender equality in all aspects of work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional qualifications that would make a candidate more desirable.
- Experience in a specific region/country or with a particular funder or donor
- INGO Sectoral experience.
- Professional experience with international donor projects in Nigeria would be an asset.
Required Languages:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
TechnoServe will expect the Information Technology (IT) Senior Administrator to provide the following services to ensure maximum uptime for TechnoServe’s IT services and equipment:
IT Support:
- Conduct routine checks on all TechnoServe IT infrastructure including hardware and software to ensure they are working efficiently;
- Install, configure, and set up laptops and mobile devices according to corporate standard laptop build check-list;
- Configure and troubleshoot printers;
- Configure and distribute devices for new staff with standard configuration including Windows and any necessary software, according to Corporate IT policy and procedures, setting them up on the network, and all other necessary troubleshooting.
- Assists the offices in maintaining a spare laptop pool based on corporate IT policies and procedures;
- Troubleshoot users’ technical issues including laptops, desktops, Printers, scanners, copiers, phones, tablets, CCTV, and Biometric Machines;
- Collaborate with the Regional IT Manager to adapt and apply all corporate IT policies and procedures to the Nigerian head office and field offices;

- Perform preventative maintenance of all office IT equipment such as laptops, mobile devices, Printers, scanners, copiers, and CCTV cameras.
- Test and evaluate new technology required to improve our services;
- Advise on IT budgeting and IT operations planning in order to be proactive on new projects and improving existing projects.
- Train users on IT systems and software usage.
General Support:
- Provide logistics and Office Support when required;

Asset/Inventory:

Primary Functions & Responsibilities
Project Inception Phase:
- Provide support to short-term consultants during market analysis study which will include value chain mapping, enabling environment mapping, gender and social inclusion analysis.
- Conduct recruitment/enrollment of program beneficiaries using predetermined criteria.
- Assist the Senior Business Advisor and Project Lead in developing the detailed project work plan.
Project implementation:
- Lead the implementation of the project’s digital strategy, ensuring beneficiary adoption and engagement.
- Facilitate training sessions for beneficiaries, monitoring attendance and engagement to ensure adherence to program guidelines.
- Provide crucial linkages between plastic collectors and aggregators, and between aggregators and recyclers.
- Monitor the recruited plastic collectors, aggregators, and recyclers to ensure they are operating within the terms and conditions of the program’s agreement.
- Participate in monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities, contributing to the program’s reporting and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure adherence to the program work plan, identifying and mitigating risks to successful project implementation.
- Collate feedback from the program beneficiaries through the program’s feedback mechanism.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Business Management, Marketing, Business Enterprise, Project Management, or relevant Social Sciences / Humanities related discipline with at least 3 years’ experience working with communities living on less than $2 a day in educating clients/beneficiaries on business development and marketing goals while nurturing relationship with relevant stakeholders. Alternatively, at least 1 year experience in similar field with a Masters degree.
- Demonstrated ability in working with small and growing businesses for at least 2 years post NYSC as a plus.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, data collection and analysis, digital training delivery, and report writing.
- Ability to engage and advise a broad range of stakeholders, including senior management of private sector companies, donor representatives, and others;
- Demonstrated experience in report writing.
- Experience in the waste management or recycling sector.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
