Job Summary

  • The Trade Marketing Coordinator is responsible for driving the growth and development of the category within the Sales department.
  • This role involves formulating and executing category strategies aimed at maximizing market share, revenue, and profitability across key sales channels.
  • The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, supply chain, and distributors, to ensure the effective implementation of category plans, trade promotions, and our AVA strategies.
  • The goal is to build a strong, differentiated category portfolio that resonates with both consumers and trade partners, ensuring sustained growth of our brands in a competitive FMCG environment.

Responsibilities
Category Strategy and Development:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive category strategies for the portfolio to drive sales growth and market share.
  • Identify growth opportunities within the category based on market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive analysis.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to define brand positioning and communication strategies specific to the category.

Trade Marketing Execution:

  • Design and execute trade marketing activities, including promotional campaigns, merchandising strategies, and category-focused activations.
  • Manage in-store execution plans for general trade and key accounts and ensure alignment with the overall category strategy.
  • Define outlets activation standards and point-of-sale (POS) materials and ensure their timely distribution to enhance product visibility in stores.

Customer & Channel Development:

  • Partner with the sales team to develop region-specific category growth plans for the different retail channels (e.g., modern trade, general trade, e-commerce…)
  • Conduct regular reviews with key trade partners to optimize category performance and implement category management principles.
  • Ensure s are well-positioned in the assortment mix of retailers and collaborate on shelf space optimization.

Market Intelligence and Reporting:

  • Conduct ongoing competitive and pricing analysis and monitor market trends to keep the category strategy aligned with evolving market dynamics.
  • Provide regular reports on category performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending action plans.
  • Work closely with the finance team to track and monitor the profitability of the category.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the sales, supply chain, and demand planning teams to ensure product availability, optimal stock levels, and timely product launches.
  • Support the new product development (NPD) process for the category by providing market insights and trade feedback.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop and execute go-to-market plans for new products.
  • Coach and mentor younger sales employees and foster a performance driven culture.

Key Activities:

  • Category Planning: Develop detailed annual category plans by region and channel, outlining key priorities, budget allocation, and growth targets.
  • Promotion Management: Design and implement trade promotions, ensuring measurable ROI and alignment with category goals.
  • AVA & Promasidor Perfect Store (PPS): Effective POS & PPS budgeting, procurement and deployment. Working with field sales teams to ensure effective usage and optimally visibility of our categories across channels.
  • Pricing and Profitability Management: Conduct regular reviews of pricing strategy to maintain category competitiveness and profitability.
  • Stakeholders Engagement: Regularly engage with field sales team, trade partners and key accounts to review category performance, gather insights, and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Create monthly performance reports detailing the progress of the category in terms of sales, volume, and profit.
  • Cross-functional Meetings: Participate in internal meetings, S&OP and others with sales, marketing, and supply chain to ensure alignment on category goals.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales or Trade Marketing with a demonstrable record of success in a category development role

Title: Lead Direct Materials Procurement – Imports
Location: Lagos

Job Objective

  • The role is accountable for driving and delivering the strategy for Direct Import, including the annual procurement plan.
  • The successful candidate will lead the Direct Import sourcing strategy, managing relationships with offshore suppliers and agents. Critical to the role is engagement with key stakeholders across commercial, finance, supply chain, and quality teams, as well as demonstrating the ability to influence senior management decisions effectively.

Key Responsibilities / Activities

  • Define and execute a long-term import sourcing strategy aligned with the commercial business objectives.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to drive change programs that enhance organizational effectiveness and streamline operations.
  • Lead the tender process for PNG foreign suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure full value chain optimization.
  • Ensure a comprehensive understanding of the total cost of ownership, exceeding annual COGS reduction and cost of failure targets.
  • Lead direct suppliers in product and packaging sourcing to meet ethical, sustainability, and circular economy goals.
  • Develop and execute the business product sustainability strategy to ensure the successful delivery of short- and long-term commitments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., commercial, finance, supply chain, quality) to ensure adherence to key business policies in sourcing decisions.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders and senior management to ensure alignment and approval of sourcing plans.
  • Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing activities, supplier performance, and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage FOB costs (in Euros and USD) into NGN delivered costs, ensuring effective management of currency and transport fluctuations.
  • Act as a highly proficient negotiator capable of handling multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Initiate and drive projects to reduce complexity, such as harmonization of specifications and suppliers across the business.
  • Manage sourcing-related risks and opportunities, keeping all stakeholders informed of any P&L impacts resulting from changes in sourcing approaches.
  • Serve as the central point of expertise in direct imports and a key contact for the wider business on import-related matters.
  • Lead and manage through a matrix team structure and direct reports, fostering a culture of collaboration, integrity, and humility.
  • Build strong working relationships across teams to deliver business goals through a cross-divisional ethos.

Requirements
Education:

  • A University Degree in Economics, Statistics, Sociology, or any relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in supply chain procurement role.
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) certification will be an added advantage

Brand Manager
Location:  Lagos

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Executing brand plans:

  • Execute approved marketing activities for brands/products, particularly below- the-line programmes.
    Plan, activate and monitor regular sampling programmes as appropriate brands/products.
    Ensure core/major activities are evaluated and learnings captures for future brand planning.

Engage in marketing insight:

  • Monitor and report on brand health, including competitor monitoring, using agreed attributes and format.
    Use consumer insight to inform development of marketing programmes for brands/products.
    Provide market information with which to report on the performance of assigned brands/products.

Competitor monitoring:

  • Track competitor activities in the assigned brand/product sector and assist the Manager, Brands’ Group, in developing response strategies to protect the position of the brand/product.

Budgeting:

  • Manage marketing budgets to execute annual activity plans for assigned brands/products, on budget and on time.
    Monitor expenditure against agreed activities and provide regular reports to the Manager, Brands Group.

Results:

  • Execute below-the-line activities for brands/products and evaluate performance against activity objectives.

Financial scope:

  • Responsible for managing marketing expenditure allocated to the brands/products.

Requirements

  • Minimum second-class Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university, within or outside Nigeria or abroad.
    Postgraduate qualification in Marketing would be an added advantage if the first degree is not in a related
    field.
  • 3-5 years’ work experience in a reputable company, preferably FMCG, of which at least 2 must be in the Marketing function, Sales
